We would like to focus on some information for those of you who could be looking at Cape Verde property or maybe are looking for their own villa in Cape Verde. In the preceding three or four years, there has existed an influx of property and tourism related investment into Cape Verde. Why is this and will it pick up again on the other side of the current world financial crisis? To respond to this, first we need to consider the causes for Cape Verde's current amazing expansion... The reasons are twofold - it has a stable political and fiscal environment with a democratically elected government, and basically due to its fabulous beaches and fabulous local weather. There exists few places in the world where twelve months of continual sunshine come together with these factors, and the modest flight durations from Europe have correctly made Cape Verde available to the world. So will this prolong? We believe so. The island of Sal, which saw the initial influx of tourism, has struggled to cope with this growth. There has been significant over-development which has significantly outstripped the infrastructure functionality of this island. When you come right down to it, there was next to nothing in Sal a few years previously. This will take time to reorganise, but it's beaches will unquestionably continue to compel future demand. The island of Sao Vicente, the location of our project of Cape Verde villas, has just opened a modern international airport, and is straight away capable of hosting direct international flights. The city of Mindelo has hosted Cape Verde's deep sea port for over a century, and the current economy and infrastructure are well placed to accommodate an imminent growth in tourism for both this island and its sister island Santo Antao. Santo Antao, although not yet ready for a significant tourism growth is only eleven km distant and is a 'must see' for any sightseer; wild and green in a style reminiscent of "Jurassic Park" or "Lost". Sao Vicente has a number of particularly high quality sandy beaches, is host to the largest yearly carnival in Cape Verde and also the annual Baia das Gatas music festival. Boavista, with its unspoilt sandy beaches will also attract many. Last year it also opened a new international air-port and is presently providing tourists to a couple of all-inclusive hotels. Like Sal, Boavista is a bit deserted in nature and has a rising property and tourism industry, but has fantastic beaches and an infrastructure problem to cope with the new tourism demands. With ever increasing tourism and property sectors, a fantastic diversity between islands, and let's face it... 12 months a year of sandy beaches and blue skies, the best property investments in Cape Verde will undoubtedly offer fantastic capital growth and rental revenue opportunities for countless years to come.
