Can I use a no-win, no-fee solicitor for an injury obtained in a car accident?

By: Maksiv Konta

Make sure you approach a no-win, no-fee personal injury solicitor as soon as possible after your accident. Even if you are still injured, you can probably find a personal injury lawyer who can visit you in your home. It is important to contact them immediately, because if you decide not to use a no-win, no-fee personal injury lawyer and to instead use your insurance company, your insurance company will want to know why you did not contact them immediately. Usually, your insurer will need to know about your accident immediately. You should carefully examine the details of your contract with your insurer.

When you meet with your no-win, no-fee solicitor, ask them whether they would advise you to use their services or to go through your insurer. Further, ask them about how the no-win, no-fee funding works. They should explain to you the terms of the Conditional Fee Agreement which they will ask you to sign if you go ahead and instruct them. Ask them what costs you could be liable for in what circumstances. This will put you in a better position to decide whether to use their services.

If you decide to use a no-win, no-fee solicitor, they will be able to seek the compensation you are entitled to, either by settling out of court or pursuing the matter through the court system on your behalf.
