Viva la Cantina When it comes to the bar itself you have two traditional options to work with and incorporate into your bar. Tile is the classic Mexican bar textile. They can often be hand painted and bursting with color or just a basic sand colored pottery color. Either one of these styles will make your cantina look authentic because choosing tiles is the right choice for your home bar. The second most popular material is wood. This can also look authentic, and if possible, you should choose and old or distressed wood to really give it that old worn in southwestern decor look. Mexican Cantina Glasses This might be the most important addition to creating an authentic Mexican cantina at home. Forget about white wine and highball glass-if you're thinking south of the boarder then what you need is Mexican glassware. By far the most beautiful and well-known cantina glasses are the margarita blue rim drinking glasses. They are big and bold and fun to drink out of and there are many different styles available. Other Accessories If you really want to go all out then there a few more accent pieces that you'll need in order to complete your collection and dedication to having a true and authentic Mexican Cantina. You can find a few woven table runners to throw over the bar, get one or two huge sombreros, which will mainly be used for decoration, but might end up as the props for some photos at one of your parties. Music can really set the mood of the bar atmosphere, so you might think of some fun mariachi music playing in the background. If you are in a dancing mood, then some salsa or tango music just might get the party started. When it comes time for stocking your Mexican cantina car, you should consider the drinks of Mexico-tequila, cerveza, and Sangria. Don't forget to include snacks for your friends to enjoy-some popular Mexican snacks are chips and salsa, tortas and tacos. Now that your Mexican Cantina is set up, you just have one thing to do.
