Ever thought about learning French? I woke up like that the other day, I blame it on the dream. I was hanging out in France by myself. I was in a bar trying to order a drink from a bartender and he threw a glass at me! I think I said something that sounded like he was ugly. Anyways, the point of a the dream was that it made me want to learn to speak French. So how hard is it really to learn French? Basically the older you are, the harder it will be to learn. Whenever you are young, your brain activity is very high. Children pick up languages like nothing else, because their brain activity is off the charts. So in comparison to a 20 something like me, a 50 year old would have a really hard time learning a new language. So what are people like me to do? There are so many different ways around getting a private tutor or enrolling in classes. Problem is that most program are not worth a dime. Try picking up an English to French dictionary and learn from that, good luck. And audio lessons are awesome if you want to pass out with some boring French guy dulling you to sleep. I found that the best learn to speak language programs include audio, video and reading lesson. This way you can actually remember the lessons. You can also play little review games on some of these learn to speak French programs, this definitely helps. One of the best comprehensive learn to speak French programs I found was Rocket French by Marie-Claire Riviere. It's all online based, so you can access it anywhere. The lessons are easy to follow and feature a French native speaking. This way you are ensuring that you are going to be learning how to speak proper dialect and accents.
