Link baiting is essentially a very useful way to get good natural traffic and even back links to your website. Some of you might not be very familiar with the term "link bait". Link bait is actually a blog post with a link of course that is designed or written to draw people's attention to it. The end result is almost always to make bloggers click on that link and this can significantly increase traffic. It is not illegal to do this but can get you to rank higher in terms of search engine rankings. Although there may possibly be a negative connotation to the term, there is nothing wrong doing it. Today I would like to share with you these link baiting tips to improve website traffic. Debunking Myths Myths can get significant attention What stirs people even more is if you've demystified a very popular myth. Obviously you will get credit for it and people will refer to your posts through links. Choose a common and widely known "myth topic" to discuss about. Explain to them what the myth is all about and draw your readers into reading them and then debunk them. Describe reasons that would open their eyes to see why the truth has not come to them. If your myth is a very popular myth and you write a good post around that, a lot of visitors and bloggers will love it and will add trackbacks around your post. They might even quote you for writing that article. Thus more more backlinks for you! Review Products Doing product reviews especially popular products can get people's attention. It is even better if you are ahead of the pack and the first one to give that review. People generally would want to read reviews before purchasing a product, so there is always going to be reviews to critic that product. If you are in that position, seize the opportunity to write a s detailed post that makes your article the best review. If you can do that, the search engines will love that, add your article to the search listings and you will get good traffic coming to your website. Acquire Interviews Interviews are great especially if you manage to interview an authority figure and post the contents of the interview on your blog. People would love to hear expert opinions on a particular subject and word of mouth will get more people coming to your site to read that interview. It is best to list down important discussions of your interviews to add more value to your post. "How To Tips" or "To Do Lists" We've seen a load of such articles around the internet and this is not just restricted to blog articles. Sometimes it can be difficult to write an article starting along those lines and get good traffic if there are a lot of competitors for the keywords in your title posts. Nevertheless writing articles like "How to be a better golfer" or "10 Tips to Excellent Gardening" are articles that can get readers. You might want to try breaking up your articles to smaller pieces so that you can post different but related articles over a period of time.. Turn Your Blog Posts Into Discussions Blogging does not mean that you should write articles all the time This allows interaction between your readers and with yourself. You can post a few paragraphs of an article about a rhetorical question related to your blog and ask for comments. The comments section then becomes very important as it becomes the focus of discussion. You can ask questions that will get different opinions from various readers and you can jump into the discussion as well. Be careful here, sometimes discussions might go the wrong way causing people to get angry and this is reflected in their comments. When this happens, it is your responsibility to diffuse the tension and moderate comments. Rants and Being Passionate Sometimes you might feel very uneasy about something on any day and discussing it on your blog. This can really get attention from your readers An element of controversy can add more fuel to the discussion. This can get a lot of people to respond to your post. Some may sympathize with you while some may stir you up even more. You have to be careful not to damage your reputation while doing this.
