Our kids are from a assortment of social and cultural backgrounds, and that mix of languages, experiences and education patterns makes our Pre school a unique, fun, and educational place to send your preschooler. We are coming up to our second anniversary and are looking forward to another successful year! The security of the nursery is principal to us, which is why we have invested in the Finger Print Technology. This means that only Moms and Staff will be able to access the Nursery school via having their fingerprint scanned, while visitors will be required to Ring the Bell for assistance. “No cost is spared when it comes to the safety of our kids”. As parents ourselves of ethnic heritage we have persistently come across barriers and discrimination through bringing up our kids, our aim is to break down these barriers for children of today growing up in a multi-ethnic society. Early experiences of diversity and appreciation of all races will form a strong foundation for those kids growing up in a mixed race society. The kids will be educated to value themselves for who they are and learn to respect each other. This is our ethos and is evident throughout our setting. Mr Irshad Ahmed - Daycare Proprietor Our Preschooler Unit caters for children aged 0-12 months. We employ qualified experienced, loving staff to cater for all your babies requirements. The baby unit has been specially designed to supply your baby a happy surroundings with protected floor space for crawling and moving around. We understand the requirements of childs, and you can be rest assured that we really do offer the best possible care for very young kids in our child unit. Your toddler will receive our undivided love and attention with plenty of stimulation at all times. We follow any feeding pattern that you may already have in place with your kid, we will be only too pleased to follow your instructions and proceed a routine that suits your child as nothing is too much trouble when it comes to your loved ones. Every infant is allocated a Key worker upon starting the daycare, A key worker is your first point of contact should you have any concerns, comments, or queries. You will be given a Daily Document Book, which is completed by your Kid's key worker every day. This book provides an insight into your kid’s day and details such as sleep times, nappy changes, and feeding times. A Development Document is completed by your toddler’s Key worker throughout each term, and this will be discussed with you at moms evening. These records are available for You to look at upon request at any time. Kids transfer from the toddler room when they reach the relevant development stage over to our Kid Room. They are introduced to a more structured day with times for free play and time for craft and messy play. These activities are planned to support kids’s growing curiosity and stimulate social, language, creative, physical and intellectual skills in a happy and safe atmosphere. Every infant is allocated a Key worker upon starting the pre school. A progress document is completed by your kid’s Key worker, throughout each term, and will be discussed with you either at Parents Evening or if you arrange for an appointment. Whilst working towards EYFS, your toddler will be gaining the necessary skills needed when making the move into foundation stage. The Little Hippos pre - school unit follow the Early Years programme which from 3 years incorporates the Early Learning Goals of the foundation stage. These first stepping stones of learning advice prepare the children for school. Activities are designed to create education thrilling, stimulating and enjoyable. Kids are encouraged to join in all the experiences offered so that they grow on confidence and independence. Every infant is allocated a Key worker upon starting which is your first point of contact should you have any concerns, comments or queries. The Foundation Stage is the first stage of the National Curriculum, focusing on the distinct needs of kids aged 3 to the end of the reception year. The Foundation Stage is delivered in a choice of settings, these include, nursery school and reception classes in Primary Schools and Private Day Nurseries. Little Hippos is registered for the Education Grant for all kids 3 years and above. This entitles the preschooler to five, two and a half hour sessions per week, term time only (three terms per year). A education note is completed by your baby’s Key worker, throughout each term, and will be discussed with you either at Moms Evening or if you arrange for an appointment. Our Nature Garden has proven to be a extensive success with both moms and kids alike. We have a Nature Trail, Reading Corner, Sensory Garden,a pond, a new climbing frame and slide area, and an area to sit and relax too! It's a hidden treasure, come and see for yourself! ICT plays a major part in our everyday lives, therefore, we thought it was paramount that the kids were given the resources and possibilities to use technology as a learning source. We have invested alot of money in equipping each room with their very own computer and interactive whiteboard. We also have a vast selection of educational software materials for the children to have fun with and learn from. In addition to this, all of our Staff are trained for or are receiving ongoing training towards the Early Years Foundation Stage which came into force on the 1st September 2008. We are working in association with a company called "Flexi- Pre schools" and are offering pre schools for busy parents on a Saturday and Sunday. Whether you are working, have something planned, or just out shopping and need the children looking after for a few hours, then look no further as our Pre school doors will be large between 9.00am and 5.00pm every weekend!! This is a National Magazine distributed to Nurseries and prospective Nursery school users throughout the country, and we are proud to be the one chosen out of thousands of Nurseries around the country. Little Hippos has become one of the first Nurseries in the West Midlands area to be awarded with the "Positive About Disabled People" kitemark which outlines our commitment to being inclusive when caring for a preschooler with a disability. This also applies to employment opportunities within our organisation, and the steps we will take to ensure that everyone is treated equally despite of race, gender, or disability. Little Hippos has been awarded with the Bronze and Silver Awards, as an recognised "ECO SCHOOL" this has come as a result of our commitment towards recycling and care for the environment around us.
