The other night I went to this club with a couple of friends of mine. They had a magician there, doing his show. He was incredibly captivating and engaging, and he reminded me of the many times people make a vow to themselves to learn magic tricks, but somehow fall victim to the belief that it is either too difficult or too time consuming. Many people see a magician perform and then have a wish or fantasy of being able to perform magic tricks for others. But unfortunately, for many, they soon give this up as they fear that it is too much work, or involves too much time. While this may be true if your goal is to perform on stage or on television, the truth is that if you wish only to perform for friends, families, and the occasional party, learning magic tricks has never been easier. Of course, you'll need to learn some magic tricks. The most basic and fundamental magic is sleight of hand. These are when make simple objects vanish and then reappear. Once you get the hang of it, you can easily create your own illusions. These work great with kids. Another wonderful skill to add to your repertoire is cold reading. This gives you the appearance of having psychic skills, and will mesmerize people beyond compare. This is easy to learn and is largely based on some simple principles of psychology. What is perhaps the most important, and most forgotten skill is that of public speaking. If you just stand there doing tricks, that's one thing. But if you can tell a mesmerizing story at the same time, it will engage the audience, as well as help with diverting their attention. This is a powerful skill to add that can easily put you head and shoulders above the rest of the amateurs. With these three simple and easy to learn skills, you will soon be performing magic for friends, family and even groups of happy strangers in bars and parties. Many people who learn these tricks discover that it gives them incredible social proof and charisma, allowing them social poise and grace they never dreamed possible.
