Visiting Tanzania on holiday can be an enjoyable experience. Depending on your tastes you may want to spend you holiday doing only one thing in Tanzania, such as going on safari, or doing multiple things like climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and experiencing the culture of a local tribe. There are several ways to spend a holiday in Tanzania, but four main ways are safaris, climbing, exploring culture and history, and scuba diving. For those interested in spending their Tanzania holiday seeing wildlife going on safari is an ideal option. The main place people go on safari in Tanzania is the Serengeti National Park. That is good if you are going to just one park and want to have time for other activities while on holiday in Tanzania. If you want to spend your whole vacation on safari, there are more places you can visit to, such as Lake Manyara, Tarangine National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Selous, and Ruaha. Climbing is another activity that many people like to spend their Tanzania holiday doing. Most that visit for climbing attempt to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. There are various routes for different levels of mountain climbing experience. This is another activity that can be combined with doing other things in Tanzania, although the holiday has to be longer since just climbing Mount Kilimanjaro takes about a week. Experiencing the culture and history of Tanzania is probably the easiest thing to work into a Tanzania holiday. This can include visiting a local village. You can often arrange a tour from a bigger city to take a day trip to smaller villages. As part of the day trip you can typically learn about traditional skills, meet the local craftsmen and see them at work on their handicrafts, and play drums. The Olduvai Gorge in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is also a significant cultural spot being the where on of the early ancestors to modern day humans was found. Scuba Diving is also something you can enjoy in Tanzania. It is most common to take scuba diving holidays in and around Zanzibar. The best time of year to visit if you plan to go scuba diving during your Tanzania holiday is between December and February, which is when manta ray are often spotted. The area is considered easy diving, so it is good for beginner divers including those that want to start to learn by taking lessons while on holiday in Tanzania.
