The secret to saving on Printer Ink

By: Mo Bradley

The printer ink business today is much bigger than somebody realizes and the struggle to draw revenue from it is fierce. The big three, Epson, HP and Brother will do everything to continue their cash cow and will say anything to frighten the general public into purchasing their overpriced item. Did you know that printer ink in cartridge form sells for $5000 a gallon. If one gallon of ink is used to fill ink cartridges and then offered to the public at the prices charged by the big three then, yes that is the sales from a gallon of printer ink. The shame here is that printer ink is a somewhat inexpensive item and need not be used to exploit the public to such a scale.

Some people refer to printer ink as Copy ink, others call it ink replacements and others just ink cartridges. The fact is that you can now get very high quality substitute products called generics or compatibles. I must tell both sides if the story so everyone can be trained first hand what the difference is between original and generic printer ink. In spite of the fact that original and generic printer ink both do the same thing, there is a vast variance in the selling price of the product.

The variance in price is so amazing and I want to take on this subject with as much enlightenment as I can. It’s going to take some time before the public completely realizes that they are being ripped off by the big 3 and even more time to realize that there is no dissimilarity between original and generic ink. Clearly it is not easy just to write a review and hope that the original brand users would simply change their ways.

I must confess that I was also at one time a sufferer of printer ink robbery. Without thinking about it, on every occasion I needed more printer ink I merely would go to the stationery store and obtain some more. One day they were out of stock of the cartridge model I required. I went home and really out of desperation I decided to try some generic printer from an web-based supplier. They promised delivery in a few days and true to their word it arrived pretty quickly at my front door a few days later. I was rather uneasy because the brand I received was one that I did not know and it looked rather plain to me after being used to the flamboyant OEM boxes. However, very quickly after installing them I was amazed at the clarity of colors as well as the black. I found no streaking on the paper. My entire print was sharp, bright, clear and of constant quality. I pretty much knew that from that moment on I would be using generic printer ink. No more original brands for me, even though I thought originals were the sole types to use.

Over time I have tried numerous online suppliers, compared excellence and price and delivery time. I want to share my experiences with all. I have acquired reliance in generic ink and soon found a excellent cheap online supplier whose merchandise was not only trustworthy but also very affordable. Some of the generics I had tried over time were not absolutely up to standard. Some, intermittently had dry streaks, and some other cartridges the ink registered as half full. As long as you have a reliable supplier you can constantly tell them about any such cases and they will just send you a replacement in the mail.

Price wise, I am now saving a lot of money. Now days, I only buy printer ink from the internet and never squander my gas and my time going to the store anymore. At my favorite online supplier, my generic brand ink is always available. I am never disappointed or upset that they may not have my printer brand in stock.
There has been no raise in the price over the last 2 years, even though costs are persistently soaring all around us on other items. Prices have remained unvarying for which I am very thankful. Often it is worth while to take notice of “Specials”. If you buy over $50.00 worth of ink, you get free delivery. With no delivery expense I do save $4.95 each time and that means a lot to me. I love that!

One other thing I think you should be concerned about when deciding on an online supplier, is do they have good before and after sales service. You should be able to access a agent who gives honest, straight forward guidance for any questions you may have. Maybe you have a question right now, like “should I try finding an online supplier of cheap generic ink?” If you check my resource box below you may get a hint of the guys that I use.
