When my children were a few years younger we took an amazing trip to Disney World. The experience literally reminded us that dreams really can come true. Seeing my children light up when they first saw Mickey Mouse is a feeling that I will never forget. We took 4 days to explore the parks of Disney World. Each new ride increased my children's excitement. I was concerned about being able to keep up without wearing out, but I found that my energy level increased with the anticipation of each new experience. The enthusiasm surrounding us was contagious. Each park brought out a passion and incited conversations that just don't occur in our everyday lives. We learned so much about ourselves and our children during this trip, things we had never seen or realized. Each new experience brought out sides of our family that had been hidden away for far too long. We learned that my daughter had a real interest in foreign cultures as we explored Epcot. My son became more and more animated with each new ride in the Magic Kingdom. I watched my husband and children bond in a brand new way as we explored the Animal Kingdom. The shock and amusement in my children's faces when they saw their mom instantly transform into a 10 year old starry eyed little girl at the sight of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger was priceless. I had forgotten that little girl even existed inside of me. The light parade in the Magic Kingdom was an amazing end to an incredible day. I wasn't sure we would have the energy to make it to the light parade but there is something about Disney World that provides endless amounts of energy and enthusiasm. When Cinderella rode by in her carriage lit up like the sun, my daughter's face said it all. It was in that moment that she knew dreams really do come true. When the trip ended and we returned to work and school I needed a way to hold onto that magical time. We bought our fair share of trinkets and reminders but I wanted something that would remind me when I needed it most. I wanted something that would bring back those feelings of youth, of dreams coming true, of hugging Winnie the Pooh and feeling as if all was right with the world.
